ResNet Setup

ResNet Registration

Register for Internet service after you move into your residential hall room.

Before you register, make sure you read the Registration Contract. The contract includes your rights as a user and will also include violation information.

To begin registration, plug your network cable into your computer. Open a web page other than a UWSP website and you will be given further instructions.

ResNet Quarantine

The first time you plug your computer into the campus network to access the internet, you will encounter the ResNet Quarantine Network.

Students connecting to the UWSPWIRELESS network will also be prompted to join the ResNet Quarantine Network.

For instructions on connecting to the campus wireless network click here.

Games Consoles and Additional Computers

To register a Game console, go to ResNet Registration and enter the device's MAC address. You CANNOT use a router to connect the device to the network as this is a direct violation of your contract and will result in termination of your network service without notice.

You may connect an additional computer to the network, but you must run each computer through the Quarantine Network before it will be able to get on the Internet.

Proxy Setup

If you notice your Internet connection is slow when viewing Web pages, please follow the directions below to setup the ResNet proxy servers. If you have a browser that is not listed, please contact us for instructions.

E-Mail Setup

You are encouraged to use Outlook Web Access (http://email.uwsp.edu) to check your campus email in your room.  You may configure an e-mail client instead. For more information on Outlook, click here.
