I. General Information
The School of Communicative Disorders has a long history of funding graduate students through assistantships. Typically, approximately half of our on-campus full-time graduate students are on an assistantship. Though not guaranteed, virtually all of our assistantship recipients from out-of-state have also received a waiver of the nonresident portion of the tuition fees.
Criteria for awarding assistantships are based on a composite of academic performance as reflected in the overall undergraduate grade point average.
The graduate assistantship requires 5-10 hours of work during each week of the semester. For out of state students receiving an out of state waiver you are required to work 14 hours a week. The general types of available work are assisting with classroom instruction, assisting with clinical instruction/operation, assisting with research and assisting with academic/administrative operations.
