PLAN COMMISSION WORKSHOPS

Winter 2010-11

"" Plan Commission Workshop
Wednesday, February 23, 2011, WITC Cashman Conference Center, New Richmond, St Croix County

This workshop is designed for new and continuing plan commission members, local government officials, planning and zoning staff, and other interested persons. The workshop will focus on the roles and responsibilities of the plan commission with particular emphasis on using the plan for local decision-making and getting started with plan implementation.

The Center for Land Use Education is partnering with the Wisconsin Towns Association to offer five educational seminars aimed at town and small village officials. Participants will learn about the roles and responsibilities of the plan commission, recent updates to the comprehensive planning law, and plan implementation tools such as subdivision ordinances, farmland preservation ordinances, and other land use controls. Participants will learn about the roles and responsibilities of the plan commission, recent updates to the comprehensive planning law, making and recording decisions, and enhancing public interactions.
