Fields WIAC Athlete of the Week Honor
UW-Stevens Point junior
Mitch Ellis was named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
men's track and field athlete of the week for field events after posting
an automatic qualifying mark in the high jump at the Carthage
Invitational.
Ellis, a Three Lakes
native, had a leap of six feet, 10.25 inches as
the Pointers amassed 217.5 points to win by nearly 100 points. His jump
is currently the highest by any NCAA Division III athlete this season
and qualifies him for the indoor nationals on May 10-11 in Northfield,
Minn.
The Pointers host the annual Eastbay
Invitational on Sat., Feb. 11 at 10 a.m. at the Multi-Activity Center on
campus. |
