10 Combined Titles at Eastbay Invite

UW-Stevens Point�s track and field teams each
had five champions and placed second behind Minnesota-Duluth at
Saturday�s Eastbay Invitational in Stevens Point.
The Pointer men�s team had 179 points with
Minnesota-Duluth totaling 195 points to win the 10-team meet. UW-Stevens
Point�s women had 107.5 points and finished 79 points behind the first
place Bulldogs.
UW-Stevens Point won both relays on the men�s
side with Adam Baumann, Ryan Schroeder, Nick Ver Duin and Kyle Steiner
posting a provisional time of 3:21.11 in the 1600-meter relay. The squad
of Bryan Buechel, Miles Dykeman, Eric Knaebe and Brad Koback had a
winning time of 1:31.89 in the 800-meter relay.
Jason Boudreau had a provisional mark in the
pole vault at 15 feet, three inches and Travis Nechuta captured the mile
in 4:19.09. Mitch Ellis, who owns the nation�s top high jump this
season, added another victory with a leap of six feet, 6.75 inches.
Jenna Mitchler led the women�s team with a
provisional qualifying time of 2:15.06 while winning the 800-meter dash.
Marie Burrows won the 400-meter run in a provisional time of 58.42 seconds, Amy Frey claimed
the triple jump with a provisional mark of 36 feet, 8.5 inches and Hannah Derringer took the
3000-meter run in 10:57.73.
The women�s 1600-meter relay team of Laura
Simonis, Marie Burrows, Andrea Irvine and Katie Simo was also victorious
in a provisional time of 4:00.84. |
