Pointers Win Titan Invitational

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point had seven individual champions
and one relay in amassing 231 team points to edge host UW-Oshkosh by
just seven points and claim the 10-team Titan Men's Track and Field
Invitational on Saturday.
The Pointers captured both sprinting titles as Aaron Schmitt captured
the 55-meter dash in 6.64 seconds and Andrew Schliepp won the 55-meter
hurdles in 7.79 seconds. Other winners on the track were Matt Legel in
50.65 seconds in the 400-meter run and Mark LaLonde in 4:02.12 in the
1500 meter run.
Mitch Ellis won the high jump in 6 feet, 6.75 inches, Chad Erspamer took
the triple jump in 44 feet, 1.5 inches and Mark Wierzba won the 35-pound
weight throw in 58 feet, 10.25 inches. The 4x400 meter relay won in
3:25.54.
