Pointer Invite
The Pointers took second in their own invitational to UW-Oshkosh. Once again, Shawn Moretti had a provisional mark in the 55 hurdles, improving his time to 7.71 seconds. Matt Hayes also made a provisional standard in the 800 meter run. Dan Schwamberger's 3000 meter run and the 800 meter relay team of Shawn Hau, Jeff Jagla, Will Porter and Eric Miller cracked the top ten school performance list with their efforts. First place was taken by Jesse Drake in the 1500 meter run. Seconds came from Curt Kaczor in the 600, Schwamberger in the 3000, Shane Rueckel in the 200 Hurdles, Cory Lesperence in the Long Jump and Josh Keim in the Weight Throw. Finally, bronzes were captured in the 400 by Chris Horvat and in the Long Jump by Will Porter. The Pointers will host the Eastbay Invitational this weekend, with the pentathlon events starting on Friday.
