Place Seventh at UW-Whitewater Invite
Freshmen Jana Braam and Kim
Goron won their first match at No. 3 doubles to lead the UW-Stevens Point
women�s tennis team at the UW-Whitewater Invitational Saturday.
Braam and Goron defeated
Beloit�s Amelie Smith and Laura Reinhold 7-5, 6-1 as the Pointers
finished seventh of eight teams with six team points. Beloit won the meet
with 28 points.
Other match winners for the
Pointers were Kathryn Pollock at No. 1 singles and Alison Mills at No. 2
singles. Both victories came in the consolation semifinals over Wisconsin
Lutheran opponents.
Pollock won her match over
Katie Wrobel 7-6 (7-1), 6-2, while Mills defeated Stephanie Staud 6-0,
6-1.
