Women�s Tennis - UW-Stevens Point 9, Lawrence 0

     All nine flights recorded victories as the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point women's tennis team opened its season with a 9-0 non-conference victory over Lawrence Thursday at the Multi-Activity center on campus. The match was moved indoors due to rain in the afternoon.

     Each of the Pointers' top two singles flights had to rally after dropping the first set 6-3. Violet Adams rebounded to beat Kirsten Hentz 6-4, 6-2 and Aimee Strebig bounced back to win the final two sets 6-1, 6-0 over Abigail Carter.

     UW-Stevens Point won all three doubles matches as Heather Janssen and Anne Hildebrant pulled out a 9-7 victory over Hentz and Carter at No. 1.

     UW-Stevens Point will compete at the UW-La Crosse Invitational Friday and Saturday.
