Men�s Team Earns Highest
Place at Nationals Since 2001
With a 9th place finish at this
weekend�s championships, UW-Stevens Point earned its highest finish at
the NCAA Division III men�s swimming and diving championships since
2001.
Alex Anderson posted the final
day�s highest finish for the Pointers when he finished second in the
200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:02.61. Teammate Ben Gensler was
not far behind in the same event with a fourth place finish and time of
2:03.29.
Also earning points tonight was
the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Anderson, Matt Grunwald, Tyler
Eloranta and Chase Gross. They finished 12th with a time of 3:06.30.
Kenyon of Ohio easily won the
national title with 498 points. They were 153 points ahead of second
place Denison University. UW-Stevens Point had 132 points. |
