Softball Ranked
17th in NCAA Division III Poll
Coming off its best spring trip since 2001, the
UW-Stevens Point softball team climbed eight spots to 17th in this week�s
NCAA Division III rankings by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
The Pointers went 8-2 in Florida and have their
home opener set for Thurs., March 30 against another nationally-ranked foe
as they host Winona State in a doubleheader at 3 p.m. at McCarty Field.
The Warriors are currently the 20th-ranked team in the NCAA Division II.
UW-Stevens Point was ranked 25th in the
preseason poll and scored 75 runs in its first 10 games while posting a
.366 team batting average.
