Tobalsky Earns
WIAC Pitcher of the Week Award
UW-Stevens Point freshman Ashley Tobalsky earned
the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference softball Pitcher of the
Week award after her performance during the Pointers' season-opening trip
to Florida last week.
Tobalsky, a Kenosha Tremper High School
graduate, helped the Pointers to their best spring trip since 2001 with an
8-2 record. She threw a team-high 35 innings with 33 strikeouts and five
walks while posting a 1.80 earned run average.
Tobalsky went 4-1 and also
picked up a save when she worked out of a bases loaded, one-out jam to
preserve a 4-3 win over Washington & Jefferson (Pa.). Tobalsky opened the
trip with a five-inning one-hit shutout against Eastern Connecticut State
in her collegiate debut.
