Wiepz and Prawat Both Score Twice in Victory

Kimie Wiepz and Amanda
Prawat each scored a pair of goals to lead the UW-Stevens Point women's
soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Lawrence on Wednesday in Appleton.
Wiepz scored off an assist
from Prawat just 9:50 to provide the Pointers all the scoring they would
need. Prawat scored less than four minutes later with an assist from Katie
O'Leary to build a 2-0 lead, which stood until halftime.
Prawat tallied another goal
at the 50:55 mark of the second half and Wiepz scored at the 76:24 mark to
finish the scoring. Both goals were unassisted.
The Pointers held their
opponents without a first half shot attempt for the second straight match,
outshooting the Vikings 22-0 before halftime and 40-4 for the contest.
Meredith DeCaluwe made one save and combined with Amanda Nechuta for the
shutout.
UW-Stevens Point opens its
home season on Saturday against Carroll at 2 p.m. at the Pointer Soccer
Bowl.
