Wiepz and Prawat Both Score Twice in Victory

Box Score

Kimie Wiepz and Amanda Prawat each scored a pair of goals to lead the UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Lawrence on Wednesday in Appleton.

Wiepz scored off an assist from Prawat just 9:50 to provide the Pointers all the scoring they would need. Prawat scored less than four minutes later with an assist from Katie O'Leary to build a 2-0 lead, which stood until halftime.

Prawat tallied another goal at the 50:55 mark of the second half and Wiepz scored at the 76:24 mark to finish the scoring. Both goals were unassisted.

The Pointers held their opponents without a first half shot attempt for the second straight match, outshooting the Vikings 22-0 before halftime and 40-4 for the contest. Meredith DeCaluwe made one save and combined with Amanda Nechuta for the shutout.

UW-Stevens Point opens its home season on Saturday against Carroll at 2 p.m. at the Pointer Soccer Bowl.
