Shuts Out Edgewood For Third Straight Win
Andrea Oswald and Molly Cady were a part of all four goals and each
had a goal and an assist to lead the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point
women's soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Edgewood Wednesday night in
Madison.
The victory was the third straight for the Pointers and improved
their record to 9-4 overall for the season.
Oswald scored the Pointers' first goal of the night with an assist
from Jenny Bruce and Cady assisted Renee DeBroux on a goal for a 2-0
halftime lead. Oswald opened the second half by feeding Andrea Spiel for a
goal to put the Pointers ahead 3-0 and Cady finished the scoring with an
unassisted goal.
Abby Rabinovitz and Brianna Hyslop split the shutout for the
Pointers. Rabinovitz extended her shutout streak to 499:04 and hasn't
allowed a goal in 11 straight matches.
The Pointers travel to UW-Eau Claire for a WIAC showdown with the
9-2 Blugolds Saturday at 1 p.m.
