Players of the Week � Apr. 25

Baseball - Position Player

Tim Schlosser (Oconomowoc, WI/Oconomowoc) - The freshman infielder extended his hitting streak to seven games and had multiple hits in four different games this week. Schlosser had four hits in five at-bats, including a double and a home run in a 10-8 Pointer win over Ripon. He added a pair of doubles and another home run in the nightcap against Marian on Sunday. For the week, Schlosser went 13-for-28 (.464) with 11 runs scored. He smacked five doubles and two home runs and picked up eight runs batted in.

Baseball - Pitcher

Zac Peterson (Waupaca, WI/Waupaca) - The sophomore lefthander earned his second win of the season by defeating Lakeland College this week. Peterson fired six innings at the Muskies, allowing just four hits and one earned run. Peterson struck out four Lakeland hitters to earn the victory.

Softball - Position Player

Laura Zierler (Kaukauna, WI/Kaukauna) - The freshman third baseman had a hit in every game as the Pointers rolled to a 6-0 record this week. Zierler had a career-high three hits in the Pointers' 6-1 victory over St. Norbert College. She also went two-for-two as the Pointers' routed Lakeland College 11-3 on Sunday. For the week, Zierler batted .579 (11-for-19) with four runs scored and three runs batted in.

Softball - Pitcher

Kelly Jablonski (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) - The freshman righthander threw her second no-hitter and first perfect game of her career and didn't give up an earned run in going 3-0 this week. Jablonski set down all 15 hitters she faced in an 8-0 five-inning perfect game against Lakeland College. Jablonski struck out four in firing the third perfect game in school history. On Thursday, Jablonski set a new school record by pitching 11 innings in a single game. She defeated St. Norbert College 3-1, allowing just one run to score on the international tiebreaking rule. For the week, Jablonski pitched 23 innings, gave up 13 hits and no earned runs. She struck out nine hitters, while walking just one. Opponents batted .165 against her.

Men's Track Events

Cory Christnovich (Neenah, WI/Neenah) - The senior hurdler topped a field of 22 runners in the 110-meter hurdles at the Augustana Meet of Champions. Christnovich qualified for the final with a time of 15.28 seconds, and then raced to the title with a time of 15.05 in the championship heat.

Men's Field Events

Kyle Steiner (Grafton, WI/Grafton) - The sophomore placed third in the decathlon at the Augustana Meet of Champions. His score of 6,139 points provisionally qualified him for the NCAA outdoor championships.

Women's Track Events

Liz Goergen (Apple Valley, MN/Eastview) - The junior earned provisional qualifying times in both an individual event and a relay at the Augustana College Invitational. Goergen placed second in the 400 meter hurdles finishing in 1:04.18. She also ran on the 4 x 400 meter relay which placed second in a time of 3:56.31. Goergen has returned to the track team after taking last year off while playing for the Pointers' women's hockey team.

Women's Field Events

Julia Slabosheski (Princeton, WI/Princeton) - The senior thrower has improved her NCAA qualifying mark in the discus each of the last three weeks. This week, she launched a throw of 44.90 meters (147' 4'') to place second overall. Her throw was just 10 centimeters short of the NCAA automatic qualifying standard. She also placed seventh in the shot put with a toss of 12.51 meters (41' 0.5'').
