Chuck Brehm (Spencer, WI) � The senior slugger had a
big week for the Pointers as they went 3-3 for the week. Brehm went 11-for-24
(.458) for the week with 10 runs scored, one triple, three home runs and eight
RBI�s. Brehm has hit a team-high five home runs for the season.
Baseball - Pitcher
Brandon Hemstead
(DeForest, WI)
� The freshman right-hander went 1-0 for the week as the Pointers went 3-3 and
improved to 10-8 overall, 6-3 in the WIAC. Hemstead gave up 11 hits, five runs,
had five walks and three strikeouts in 11 innings pitched for a 1.54 ERA.

Kristin Konieczny
(Milwaukee, WI/Pius XI)
- The freshman slugger had a big week for the Pointers as they went 2-2
for the week and improved to 12-5-1 overall. Konienczny went five-for-10 for
the week with four runs scored, one double, two home runs and four RBI�s.
Softball - Pitcher
Hope Krause
(Mishicot, WI) � The sophomore right-hander helped the Pointers to a 2-2
record this week in a pair of doubleheaders. Krause went 1-0, allowing only one
earned run in nine innings of pitching this week. For the week, Krause had a
0.77 ERA, allowed six hits, had three walks and two strikeouts.
Men�s Track Events
Bryan Buechel (St. Cloud/New Holstein) � The
senior�s two first place finishes helped the Pointer team to a second place
finish at Saturday�s UW-Oshkosh Track and Field Invitational. Buechel finished
first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.65 seconds. Buechel also ran on
the first place 400-meter relay team that won with a time of 42.05 seconds.
Men�s Field Events
Peter Prusinski
(Rib Lake, WI)
- The senior helped lead the Pointers to a second place finish at
Saturday�s UW-Oshkosh Track and Field Invitational. Prusinski was the top
collegiate finisher in the discus with a throw of 149 feet, seven inches. He
also placed second in the shot put at 49 feet, 0.75 inches.
Women�s Track Events
Ashleigh Potuznik
(Baraboo, WI)
- The senior turned in a season-best performance in the 5000-meter run at
Saturday�s UW-Oshkosh Track and Field Invitational. Potuznik finished second in
the event with a time of 18:35.83, just five seconds behind teammate and first
place finisher Teresa Stanley. Potuznik�s effort helped lead the Pointers to a
third place finish at the 12-team meet.
Women�s Field Events
Beth Richter
(Green Bay, WI/Preble) � The junior had two top-five finishes at
Saturday�s UW-Oshkosh Track and Field Invitational helping the Pointers to a
third place finish at the 12-team meet. Richter finished second in the long
jump with a leap of 16 feet, 10.75 inches and took fourth in the javelin with a
throw of 109 feet, two inches. |
