Players of the Week March 27th � April 2nd

Baseball � Position Player 

Adam Evanoff (Plover, WI/SPASH) � The junior slugger led the Pointers to a 3-0 record in the WIAC this week.  Evanoff hit .500 (five-for-10), including a home run, had a team-high five RBIs, and scored two runs in the Pointers three victories over UW-Platteville this weekend.

Baseball - Pitcher

Jordan Zimmermann (Auburndale, WI) - The sophomore pitcher helped the Pointers to a 3-0 record in the WIAC this week.  In the first game of Saturday�s doubleheader against UW-Platteville, Zimmermann tied a 45-year old school record in a 7-2 win with 14 strikeouts.  Zimmermann struck out the side in both the first and ninth innings in his 14-strikeout performance, and eight of his 14 strikeouts came on a called third strike. Zimmermann walked one and allowed just four hits and one earned run while setting down the last 11 batters in his complete game victory.

Softball � Position Player

Mandy Jellish (Kaukauna, WI) - The junior centerfielder led the Pointers to a 2-1-1 record this week over two non-conference opponents.  In Saturday�s two wins over Lakeland College, Jellish was seven-for-eight with six singles, a home run, four RBIs and runs scored for the Pointers.  Her two-run inside the park homerun was the first of her career. 

Softball - Pitcher

Allison Dorn (Greenville WI/Fox Valley Lutheran) � The freshman pitcher helped the Pointers to a 2-1-1 record this week over two non-conference opponents.  In Thursday�s 3-3 tie with nationally ranked Division II opponent Winona State, Dorn struck out three batters and gave up eight hits.  In Saturday�s 11-1 win over Lakeland College, Dorn gave up only three hits and no earned runs.  The freshman improved to 2-0 for the season and the Pointers are now 10-3-1 overall. 

Men�s Track Events 

Adam Baumann (Marathon, WI) � The senior helped the Pointers capture both men�s relay events and finished first in the 110-meter hurdles at Saturday�s North Central First Chance Meet in Naperville, Ill.  Baumann led the 400-meter relay team to victory in 42.28 seconds, while he anchored the 1600-meter relay team, that finished first in 3:18.29.  Baumann�s efforts earned him a first-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.29 seconds.  The Pointers finished third at the meet.

Men�s Field Events

Mitch Ellis (Three Lakes, WI) - The junior helped lead the Pointers to a third place finish at Saturday�s North Central First Chance Meet in Naperville, Ill.  Ellis recorded an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the high jump at six feet, 8.25 inches. 

Women�s Track Events

Teresa Stanley (Whitewater, WI) - The senior turned in the lone first-place finish for the Pointers at Saturday�s North Central First Chance Meet in Naperville, Ill.  Stanley earned a provisional mark in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 11:12.00.  Stanley�s efforts helped the Pointers to a fourth place finish at their first outdoor meet of the season.

Jenna Mitchler (Kaukauna, WI) - The senior had a provisional time in a second place finish in the 1500-meter run in 4:35.64 at Saturday�s North Central First Chance Meet in Naperville, Ill.  Mitchler helped the Pointers to a fourth place finish at their first outdoor meet of the season. 

Women�s Field Events

Beth Richter (Green Bay, WI/Preble) � The junior finished third in two events for the Pointers at Saturday�s North Central First Chance Meet in Naperville, Ill.  Richter earned a second-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 10.75 inches and in the javelin with a throw of 108 feet, 10 inches.  The Pointers placed fourth at their first outdoor meet of the season.
