Players of the Week � Mar. 29

Baseball - Pitcher

J.C. Reinke (Bonduel, WI/Bonduel) - The junior lefthander fired six scoreless innings at NCAA Division I opponent Lipscomb University as the Pointers picked up an 8-0 victory. Reinke allowed just four hits, struck out two and walked none to earn his first victory of the year. Reinke also threw three innings in relief against St. Olaf College, giving up five hits and striking out four.

Baseball - Position Player

Ryan Jones (Eau Claire, WI/North) - The senior first baseman became UW-Stevens Point's all-time home run leader with five blasts during the Pointers six-game spring break trip. Jones belted three solo home runs on Friday against Loras, as the Pointers pulled out a 6-5 win in eight innings. He broke the record with his 33rd career home run on Saturday against St. Olaf. For the trip, Jones batted .429 with five home runs, a double, a triple, four runs scored and eight RBIs. The Pointers went 2-4 for the week.

Softball - Position Player

Rebekah Bauer (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) - The sophomore left fielder had five extra-base hits for the Pointers in their season-opening spring break trip. Bauer had a double in each of the first two games of the season against Blackburn, and added a solo home run against Washington (Mo.). For the week, Bauer hit .259 and recorded a slugging percentage of .519. She had four doubles, a home run, three runs scored, six RBIs and did not make an error in the field.

Women's Track Events

Julia Slabosheski (Princeton, WI/Princeton) - The junior thrower claimed top honors in the discus and second place in the shot put at the Wartburg Open Invitational this weekend. Slabosheski threw the discus 42.40 meters to claim the event, and heaved the shot 13.08 meters. Both of her marks eclipsed the provisional qualifying standards for the NCAA III Outdoor National Championships.
