Players of the Week � Apr. 1

Softball - Position Player

Jill Van Wychen (Kaukauna, WI/Freedom) � The junior outfielder led the offensive attack for the Pointers during their spring trip to Florida. Van Wychen batted .559 on the trip (19-for-34), scoring 12 runs and hitting one double. The Pointers finished their Florida swing with a 7-4 record.

Softball � Pitcher

Jeanann Briski (Berlin, WI/Berlin) � The sophomore right-handed pitcher made the most of her first career start for the Pointers, firing a 9-0 five-inning perfect game over Cardinal Stritch in Fort Myers, Florida. It was only her second career appearance for the Pointers. For the week, Briski had a 1.70 ERA, striking out nine, giving up just six hits and three earned runs in 12 1/3 innings.

Men�s Track Events

Mark LaLonde (Park Falls, WI) � The sophomore runner qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a provisional time of 14:41.33. LaLonde was second at the Big Cat Classic, trailing only former Pointer standout Jesse Drake.

Men�s Field Events

Jeremiah Rolfs (Iola, WI) � The junior thrower achieved a provisional qualifying mark in the discus throw. Rolfs won the event at the Big Cat Invitational with a toss of 47.33 meters.

Women�s Track Events

Teresa Stanley (Whitewater, WI) � The freshman recorded a provisional qualifying mark in the first 3000-meter steeplechase race of her life. Stanley placed third in rainy conditions at the Big Cat Invitational in a time of 11:53.48.

Women�s Field Events

Megan Lundahl (Sturgeon Bay, WI) � The senior thrower placed well among mostly Division I competition at the Big Cat Invitational in Memphis, Tenn. Lundahl finished fifth in the discus throw with a toss of 34.30 meters. Lundahl was also sixth in the hammer throw with a mark of 41.25 meters.
