Czys Named WIAC
Defensive Player of the Week
With at least 10 tackles for the fifth straight
game, UW-Stevens Point senior linebacker Brandon Czys has been named the
Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference football defensive Player of
the Week.
The Mauston native had 12 tackles in the Pointers� 31-28 victory over
UW-Platteville on Saturday that put the team into a tie for third place in
the league standings. Czys led a defensive effort that limited the Pioneers
to 77 yards rushing. He had eight solo tackles and four assisted tackles,
while also recovering a fumble that set up a third quarter Pointers�
touchdown.
For the season, Czys leads the WIAC with 90 total
tackles for an average of 10.0 per game. He has a league-best 55 solo
tackles, which ranks 24th in the NCAA Division III. |
