Johnson Leads Four Pointers on Academic All-District Football Squad

     Senior defensive end Craig Johnson was a first-team selection in leading four UW-Stevens Point selections to the Academic All-District football squad selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

     Senior tight end Ross Adamczak and senior wide receiver Kurt Kielblock were named to the second team and senior offensive lineman Cliff Ruland was a third-team selection. The team is comprised of all NCAA Division II, Division III and NAIA players from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois and Indiana.

     Johnson, a Green Bay Preble High School graduate, is now eligible for Academic All-American honors and was a first-team Academic All-American last season. He carries a 3.73 grade point average in Business Administration and leads the Pointers in tackles for loss and sacks for the third straight year. He has played in all 40 career games.

Adamczak, a Stevens Point native who attended Stevens Point Area Senior High, is among the top pass-catching tight ends in the WIAC with 35 catches for 587 yards and five touchdowns. He carries a 3.44 grade point average in Computer Information Systems and Business.

Kielblock, an Iola-Scandinavia High School graduate, leads the Pointers and ranks third in the WIAC with 50 catches, while totaling 504 yards and five touchdowns. Kielblock has a 3.49 grade point average in Health Promotion and Wellness.

     Ruland, a Wonewoc-Center High School graduate, was a first-team All-WIAC performer last season and has started all nine games as one of the leaders of the team�s offensive line this year. He has a 3.35 grade point average in Wildlife Management.
