COACHING STAFF
Iserloth, Kalsow Named to All-WIAC Team, Bennett Lands Coach of the Year

After another championship season on the court, the UW-Stevens Point mens basketball team has been rewarded with two first-team All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference performers as well as the leagues Coach of the Year.

The Pointers interior tandem of senior Josh Iserloth and sophomore Jason Kalsow both received first team all-conference honors, while seventh-year coach Jack Bennett landed his second career Coach of the Year honor.

Bennett led UW-Stevens Point to its fourth consecutive conference championship, posting a conference record of 14-2. The Pointers are currently 24-3 overall as they continue their season in the NCAA Division III tournament on Saturday. Bennett was also named the Coach of the Year in 2000 when his squad won the first of the four straight titles. In his seventh year with the Pointers, Bennett has compiled a 142-47 record.

Iserloth, a Plymoth native, led the Pointers in scoring and finished eighth in the conference at 16.9 points per game. He scored in double figures in 24 of the Pointers 27 games, made a team high 40 three point shots and ranked second on the team in rebounding at 5.1 per game. Iserloth also finished second in the conference in blocked shots averaging 1.74 blocks per game.

Iserloth was named to the all-conference team for the third straight year and becomes the fourth player in school history to accomplish the feat, joining Tim Naegeli (1985-87), Bill Zuiker (1979-81) and Tom Ritzenthaler (1970-72). He is also one of 14 players in conference history to play on four championship teams.

Kalsow, a Huntley, Ill. native, led the Pointers in both rebounding and assists. He finished sixth in the conference in both categories, averaging 7.4 rebounds and 3.59 assists per game.  Kalsow also finished third in the conference in field goal percentage shooting 60.3 percent. It is Kalsows second straight year receiving all-conference honors after being earning honorable mention accolades a year ago.

UW-Oshkosh senior Dworak and UW-River Falls junior Rich Melzer were named Co-Conference Players of the Year.
