Picture (159x211, 20.3Kb)     The Rosemount, Minn. native led the Pointers in scoring with 20 goals and 19 assists for 39 points. She scored points in 22 of the teams 27 games, including school-records four assists and five points in a win over St. Olaf.

Ninnemann, also a first-team Northern Collegiate Hockey Association selection, helped lead the Pointers to a 26-1 record in just their second season as a varsity program. UW-Stevens Point also won the NCHA regular season and tournament titles, though the league does not have an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III tournament. The Pointers ended the year with a 15-game winning streak.

Ninnemann scored four power play goals and two game-winning goals, including a goal with 1:37 left in the third period to give the Pointers a 4-3 win over Frozen Four participant Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.) on Nov. 17.

Ninnemann was joined on the first team by UW-Superiors Lindsy Carlson and Melanie Salatino, as well as Gustavus Adolphus Sarah Moe and Ellen Doyle. St. Marys goalie Missie Meemken was the first-team goaltender. Moe was named National Player of the Year.

UW-Stevens Point coach Brian Idalski is also a finalist for national Coach of the Year honors, which will be announced next week.
