UW-Stevens Point to Host Athletics Carnival on Sunday

Children from throughout the Stevens Point area will have the opportunity to take part in various sports and activities along with UW-Stevens Point student-athletes on Sunday, April 21 when the university hosts its annual athletics carnival.

The event will be held in the indoor track area of the Multi-Activity Center from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and will feature several different events for children in kindergarten through fourth grade.

Among the activities planned are basketball shooting with the Pointer basketball teams and shooting areas with the hockey and soccer teams. The swimming and diving teams will have a dunk tank and the track and field teams will run children through an obstacle course. The wrestling team will have the mats available and the athletic trainers will perform taping. Other activities will also be conducted.

Admission to the event is free and treats will be provided. Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras to take pictures of the children with the Pointer athletes.
